Make3D-Research Project from Stanford

Recently Stanford has made its research project Make3D available for demo in their site. The Make3D project aims at creating 3D images from one single 2d image file. Softwares such as photosynth(covered earlier) are made up of hundreds of photos.

The amount of 3d generated by make3d depends on the landscape of the picture and apart from their basic pictures you can upload your own picture to Make3D site. But however it takes more than 24 hours to convert it into 3D Model. But the image quality of the 3d model is quite impressive.

It must have taken so much of hard work to get this project done. What photosynth achieves with 100’s of photos can be done in a single photo here.
